'Aiea Pearl City Dental Care's Tier 4 Protocols:
For
your
safety
and the
well-being
of your
family and friends
, please consider the following:
Dental care:
• No restrictions on dental treatment.
Screening:
• A questionnaire and temperature check. Due to new Omicron variant, we may ask you to complete the screening form twice a few days before your appointment and again the day of your appointment.
In-office social distancing:
• 10 minutes before your appointment, no earlier.
• 1 guest is allowed to accompany patients in the clinical area.
• We would appreciate if guests wait outside the office.
Travel:
Inter-island / Domestic:
• No restrictions, but a negative home test or waiting a few days would be appreciated.
International:
• Please consider the country travelled to as some countries have histories of high case counts and low vaccination rates (Eastern and SE Europe, parts of Africa, parts of the Middle East, and parts of SE Asia). • 7-day quarantine with proof of negative test done 3-5 days after return flight, OR, 10-day quarantine with no testing. • If emergency: Double negative tests (one must be at a testing site) at least 24 hours apart and need to wait 5 days after returning.
Pilots and flight attendants:

Immunization:
Immunization (aka Vaccination):
• We consider patients who have had COVID to be immunized like a vaccinated patient, however, immunity may decrease within 90 days of having COVID.
• Those who do not pass our screening tests will have their appointments rescheduled regardless of immunization status.
• Nurses or doctors who have treated COVID patients should defer treatment 7 days and show proof of a negative test. If you have a dental emergency, we will require two negative COVID tests 24 hours apart.
COVID patient:
• Ok to be seen once cleared by your doctor(s) or a state organization WITH proof of clearance.
• If you were hospitalized or went to the ER, we require a 21-day quarantine with proof of clearance.
COVID exposure or possible exposure with negative COVID test result:
• Please delay treatment for 5 days if you are asymptomatic, or until 1 day after your symptoms are gone.
• We may require two to three negative tests.
Our CURRENT general stance on COVID:
• People have been made aware of the vaccines and boosters and have had ample time to evaluate the risks and benefits as it relates to their individual health status. We should respect each other's decisions, make our own decisions, and accept any consequences of the decisions we make for ourselves.
• These protocols are primarily to protect those that are unvaccinated from severe symptoms such as hospitalization or death.
• These protocols also serve to do our part to decrease the strain on medical facilities so that non-COVID patients such as heart attack or stroke victims can get the efficient and effective care they need, and to promote the return of routine medical procedures like cancer screenings and biopsies.
• These protocols also serve to reduce the statistical probability of delta and omicron variant transmittal to and from both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals and their families.
